20 July 2019TULLYNESSLE HALL FILM CLUB - SPECIAL EVENT!
The film club has managed to arrange a special showing of a new North East set documentary about salmon netting along with a Q & A with the film makers:
OF FISH AND FOE
The Pullars are one of the last families using traditional methods to fish for wild Atlantic salmon off the coast of Scotland. When these methods involve killing seals, the salmon’s natural predators, conflict erupts. Animal activist groups Sea Shepherd and Hunt Saboteurs oppose the Pullars at every turn, despite the legality of the fishermen’s actions and the consequences to their livelihood. Challenging preconceptions, this ambiguous doc puts modern environmentalism under the microscope
The film is showing briefly at the Belmont at the end of July, but if you are interested please wait and come along to Tullynessle Hall on Sunday 15th September at 7.30 pm and join us then. A great chance to ask questions and hear the film makers talk. This will not be part of the usual film club season and an entry fee of £5 on the door will apply to all.
